Do you remember the halcyon days,

                                        When peace enveloped your heart?

                                Do you remember those golden days,

                                        Before you, from God, did part?

                                God can restore what the locusts have eaten,

                                        And bring back that peace to your heart.

                                He can lift up the one who is beaten,

                                        And give him a brand-new start.

                                You're not the first, Child, and won't be the last

                                        To fall and lose courage to rise.

                                Yet, the crown is not to the one who is fast,

                                        But to him, who, for mercy, cries.

                                All of the turmoil and unending strife

                                        Is Love's way of saying to you:

                                "Child, if you'll trust Me again with your life,

                                        I'll fill you with My life anew."

                                Love calls you back to the heart you have broken;

                                        Back to the heart you still love.

                                Love calls you back with this word as the token,

                                        That His is a permanent Love.
