The Bride is so bright in the beauty of Christ, Though completely unconscious thereof And while her heart is transfixed upon Him, His glory doth rest with His love. She dare not remove her attention from Him, To admire His beauty on her For as soon as her eyes become fixed on herself, He no longer His beauty confers. While others may see His glory on her As the light of the sun at high noon, She never can see herself in such light But sees only the dark of the moon. Thus, her beauty is but the beauty of Christ She never shall see in herself, But so long as her heart is fixed upon Him, She is bathed in His glorious wealth.
