"ASK ME OF THINGS TO COME"
Have you ever asked of God concerning things to come, about His glorious plan concerning the sons of men and even all the work of His hands? Isa.45:11. Here are some pertinent questions along with their simple biblical answers, presented in a way that anyone might understand. QUESTION: Is there HOPE for the groaning creation, and if so, what shall be the FINAL OUTCOME? ANSWER: The intense longing of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God, whereby the creature (whole creation) "SHALL BE DELIVERED from the bondage of corruption INTO THE GLORIOUS LIBERTY OF THE CHILDREN OF GOD." Ro.8:19,21. Christ is not only "the firstborn of EVERY CREATURE" (Col.1:15) but also "the ALPHA and the OMEGA" (Rev.1:8), man’s "FAITHFUL CREATOR." 1Ptr.4:19. QUESTION: In general, what are some things that shall be included in God’s great plan of restitution and restoration? ANSWER: "ALL THINGS which God hath spoken by the mouth of His holy prophets." Ac.3:21. See also Lk.24.44; Matt.5:17,18;17:11; Mk.9:12; Dan.9:24; 2Cor.5:17; Isa.58:12; 61:4. "But NOW we see NOT YET ALL THINGS PUT UNDER HIM." Heb.2:8. QUESTION: What is it which God through the greatness of His love, His mercy, and His power, ultimately purposed to do? ANSWER: "To SEEK and SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST." Lk.19:10. He "seeketh THAT WHICH IS GONE ASTRAY." Matt.18:12. Shall not He "go after THAT WHICH IS LOST UNTIL HE FIND IT?" Lk.15:4. "That in Christ should ALL FULLNESS dwell, and having MADE PEACE through the blood of His cross by Him TO RECONCILE ALL THINGS UNTO HIMSELF." Col.1:18,19. "That He might FILL ALL THINGS" (Eph.4:10) through Himself "that FILLETH ALL IN ALL" (Eph.1:23), "that God might be ALL IN ALL" (1Cor.15:28), making "ALL THINGS NEW." Rev.21:5. QUESTION: Will the ultimate fulfillment of God’s great plan and desired purposes be aborted by man’s own rebellious will? Is this possible? ANSWER: "The gates of hell SHALL NOT PREVAIL against it" Matt.16:18. "If this counsel or this work be...of God, ye cannot overthrow it." Ac.5:38,39. Surely God "worketh ALL THINGS AFTER THE COUNSEL OF HIS OWN WILL" (Eph.1:11) and "WHAT HIS SOUL DESIRETH even THAT HE DOETH." Jb.23:13. "He DOETH ACCORDING TO HIS WILL in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth." Dan.4:35; Psa.135:6; 33:10; Eccl.8:3. "Those that walk in pride HE IS ABLE TO ABASE" Dan.4:37. "For WHO HATH RESISTED HIS WILL?" Ro.9:19. "Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?" Lam.3:37; Isa.14:24. QUESTION: What is included In the Lord’s ultimate WILL and plan for mankind, and therefore shall surely come to pass? ANSWER: "He WHO WILL HAVE (not merely hopes to have) ALL MEN TO BE SAVED, and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1Ti.2:4) promised, "I WILL DRAW ALL MEN UNTO ME" (Jn.12:32) "that ALL should come to repentance" (2Ptr.3:9), so "that in the dispensation of the fullness of times He might gather TOGETHER IN ONE ALL THINGS in Christ" (Eph.1:10), "and the abundance of the seas shall be CONVERTED." Isa.60:5; Jn.3:17; 6:39,45; Ezk.47:8,9. "No thought of thine can be hindered." Jb.42:2. QUESTION: What is NOT God’s ultimate WILL AND PURPOSE in creation? ANSWER: "He IS NOT WILLING that ANY should perish (be in total decay and ruin; lost forever)." 2Ptr.3:9. "It IS NOT THE WILL OF YOUR FATHER that ONE of these should perish." Matt.18:14. QUESTION: What IS included in God’s will, purpose and good PLEASURE? ANSWER: "Thou Hast created ALL THINGS, and FOR THY PLEASURE they are and were created" (Rev.4:11; Col.1:16), certainly "not in vain." Isa.45:18. QUESTION: What IS NOT God’s pleasure? ANSWER: "Have I ANY PLEASURE AT ALL that the wicked should die?…and not that he should turn from his ways and live?" Ezk.18:23. "I have NO PLEASURE in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live." Ezk.33:11; Psa.5:4; Lk.9:56. "He shall send forth JUDGEMENT UNTO VICTORY." Matt.12:20. "Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain." Psa.76:10. QUESTION: Will God’s full counsel (purpose) and PLEASURE come to pass? ANSWER: Yes, because "it is God which worketh in you both TO WILL and TO DO OF HIS GOOD PLEASURE. " Phil.2:13. "Whatsoever THE LORD PLEASED, THAT DID HE." Psa.135:6; 115:3. God says, "My counsel shall stand and I WILL DO ALL MY PLEASURE" (Isa.46:10; 25:1), for "the counsel of the Lord standeth forever." Psa.33:11. "I WILL WORK and WHO SHALL HINDER IT." Isa.43:13. His "PLEASURE….SHALL PROSPER." Isa.53:10. "The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this" (Isa.9:7) for is not "the weakness of God" much stronger than men? 1Cor.1:25; Lk.1:20. QUESTION: What ultimate purpose and promise has the Lord sworn to Himself that shall not return void? ANSWER: "That UNTO ME EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW, EVERY TONGUE SHALL SWEAR" (Isa.45:23) "and that EVERY TONGUE SHOULD CONFESS THAT JESUST CHRIST IS LORD to the GLORY OF GOD the Father." Phil.2:11; 1Cor.12:3. "For that that is determined SHALL BE DONE" (Dan.11:36) until "THE WHOLE EARTH is FULL of HIS GLORY." Isa.6:3. "There hath not failed one word of His good promise." 1Kgs.8:56. "So shall my word be….it shall not return unto Me void, but SHALL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH I PLEASE, and it SHALL PROSPER in the thing whereto I sent it." Isa.55:11. QUESTION: For whom did Christ give Himself a ransom and why? ANSWER: "He died for ALL" (2Cor.14,15), "for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD" (1Jn.2:2; Jn.1:29) therein "tasting death for EVERY MAN." Heb.2:9. He gave Himself "for ALL to be testified (to by ALL) in due time" (1Tim.2:6; Rom.5:6), "EVERY MAN in His own order" (1Cor.15:23) "that ALL MEN through Him might believe." Jn.1:7,9. In due appointed time "He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied." Isa.53:11. QUESTION: Who shall bow down before the Lord? ANSWER: "ALL they that go down to the dust shall bow before Him." Psa.22:29. "ALL kings shall fall down before Him." Psa.72:11. "The evil bow (down) before the good: and the wicked at the gates of the righteous." Prv.14:19; Isa.45:14. "The Lord upholdeth ALL THAT FALL, and RAISETH UP ALL those that be bowed down." Psa.145:14. QUESTION: Who has God commanded to be saved? ANSWER: "ALLTHE ENDS of the earth" (Isa.45:22) in order "that ALL MEN should honour the Son." Jn.5:23; Ro.9:21. "The Father sent the Son to be Saviour of the world" (1Jn.4:14; Jn.12:47) "that the world through Him might be saved (Jn.3:17), even "THE WHOLE WORLD." 1Jn.2:2. QUESTION: Who has God commanded to repent? ANSWER: "ALL MEN EVERYWHERE" (Ac.17:30) and did not the Lord say, "I will say the word and perform it…THE WORD WHICH I HAVE SPOKEN SHALL BE DONE." Ezk.12:25-28. "Because I have spoken it, I have purposed it and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it." Jer. 4:28. QUESTION: Will God’s commandments be carried out and be fulfilled in the purpose for which they were sent? ANSWER: "Thou shalt call, and I will answer Thee: Thou shalt have a desire to the work of thine hands. "I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I HAVE PURPOSED IT, I WILL ALSO DO IT." Isa.46:11. "Hath He said and shall He not do it; or hath He spoken and shall he not make it good?" Num.23:19; Jer.4:28. "He hath remembered…the word which He commanded to a thousand generations." Psa.105:8; Heb.6:16-18. "I will hasten (watch over) my word TO PERFORM IT." Jer.1:12; 31:28. His word is "ORDERED IN ALL THINGS AND SURE." 2Sam.23:5; 1Sam.3:12. "ALL His commandments ARE SURE. They stand fast forever." Psa.111:7,8; 93:5. QUESTION: How many does God include in His great plan of salvation and restoration? ANSWER: "The living God…IS THE SAVIOUR OF ALL MEN." 1Tim.4:10. The God of the WHOLE EARTH shall He be called." Isa.54:5. Mercifully, "Thou preservest them ALL." Neh.9:6. Psa.79:11. QUESTION: Who shall see the salvation of God? ANSWER: "ALL ISRAEL." Ro.11:36. "The WHOLE HOUSE of Israel." Ezk.37:11. Eventually, "ALL FLESH shall the see the salvation of God." Lk.3:6; Psa.65:2. "The glory of the Lord shall be revealed and ALL FLESH shall see it together: for the mouth fo the Lord hath spoken it." Isa.4O:5. QUESTION: Who shall come to know and eventually be taught of the Lord? ANSWER: "They shall ALL KNOW ME from the least of them to the greatest." Jer.31:34. Jesus said, "NO MAN can COME TO ME except the Father which hath sent me DRAW HIM…and THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD. EVERY MAN therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me." Jn.6:44,45; Josh.4:24; Isa.54:13. Christ is "the true Light, which lighteth EVERY MAN that cometh into the world" (Jn.1:9) "and then shall EVERY MAN have praise of God." 1Cor.4:5. QUESTION: If because of Adam ALL MEN died, who is it that shall be made alive because of Christ? ANSWER: "As in Adam ALL die, even so in Christ SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE." 1Cor.15:22; Rom.5:8-21. "For as by one man’s disobedience MANY (Grk. "the many"-All) were made sinners, so by the obedience of One shall MANY (the same all) be made righteous." Ro.5:19. QUESTION: Who and what shall God quicken (make spiritually alive)? ANSWER: "ALL THINGS" 1Tim.6:13. "For of Him, and through Him, and TO HIM , ARE ALL THINGS." Ro.11:36. "The Son quickeneth WHOM HE WILL." Jn.5:21. Jesus saith, "Behold, I am alive forever more, Amen; and have the keys of hell and death." Rev. 1:8. QUESTION: Who and what has the Lord made in His creation, and for what purpose? ANSWER: "ALL THINGS were created by Him and FOR HIM." Col.1:16; Heb.2:10a. "The Lord hath made ALL THINGS FOR HIMSELF" (Prv.16:4; Psa.24:1; Exod.19:5) that "in ALL THINGS He might have the preeminence" (Col.1:18) "to present EVERY MAN perfect in Christ." Col.1:28. QUESTION: Over whom is Christ Lord and Master? ANSWER: "He is LORD OF ALL." Ac.10:36; Matt.23:8. "The same Lord over ALL his works." Ro.10:12. "Hath not the potter power over the clay?" Ro.9:21; Jer.18:2-6. QUESTION: Who shall eventually be blessed by Christ? ANSWER: "ALL FAMILIES OF THE EARTH." Gen.12:3; 28:14. "ALL KINDREDS of the earth" Ac.3:25. "ALL NATIONS of the earth" Gen.18:18; 22:18; 26:4. "ALL NATIONS shall call Him blessed." Psa.72:17. "In thee shall ALL NATIONS be blessed." Gal.3:8; Rev.7:9; 15:4. QUESTION: Who shall eventually serve Christ? ANSWER: "ALL NATIONS" Psa.72:11. "ALL DOMINIONS." Dan.7:27. "ALL PEOPLE, ALL LANGUAGES." Dan.7:14. "For then will I return to the people a pure language, that they may ALL call upon the name of the Lord to serve Him with ONE CONSENT." Zep.3:9. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.." Ro.10:13. QUESTION: Who shall eventually praise Him? ANSWER: "ALL HIS WORKS." Psa.145:9,10. "ALL THE PEOPLE." Psa.67:3,5. "ALL the kings of the earth." Psa.138:4. Even "the wrath of man." Psa. 76:10; 69:34. "Let EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH, praise the Lord." Psa.150:6. QUESTION: Who shall eventually worship Him? ANSWER: "EVERY CREATURE" Rev.5:13. "ALL FLESH" Isa.66:23. "ALL THE ENDS of the world", "ALL THE KINDREDS of the nations." Psa.22:27; 67:7. ALL the isles of the heathen" (Zep.2:11), even "ALL NATIONS WHOM THOU HAST MADE shall come and worship before thee." Psa.86:9; Rev.15:4. "ALL THE EARTH" (Psa.66:4) so that "the WHOLE EARTH BE FILLED with His glory." Psa.72:19; 97:7. QUESTION: Who shall eventually submit unto Him? ANSWER: Through the greatness of thy power shall THINE ENEMIES SUBMIT THEMSELVES UNTO THEE" (Psa.66:3), even that LAST and strongest enemy, death-1Cor.15:26, 54,55. QUESTION: Who or What shall be subdued ("upotasso"-being willingly subject) unto God? ANSWER: "ALL THINGS (IN CREATION) SHALL BE SUBDUED UNTO HIM" 1Cor.15:28. For "He is able even to SUBDUE ALL THINGS UNTO HIMSELF (Phil.3:21) even the rebellious will of ALL MEN-Ro.chptr.9. "Iniquity shall have an END." Ezk.21:25; Jb.38:11; Dan.9:24. You now "have seen THE END of the Lord: that the Lord is pitiful, and full of tender mercy."Jas.5:11. "He will SUBDUE our iniquites; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea." Mic.7:19. QUESTION: Who hath God concluded in unbelief that He might have mercy upon? ANSWER: "I will have mercy upon whom I will have mercy" (Ro.9:15) and "Whom He will He hardeneth." Ro.9:18. "For God hath concluded THEM ALL in unbelief that He might have MERCY UPON ALL ." Ro.11:32. "Thou turnest men to destruction; and sayest, RETURN, YE CHILDREN OF MEN" (Psa.90:3) for "His mercy endureth forever." Psa.106:1; Jas.5:11. He is in one mind and who can turn Him?" Jb.23:13. Who can even resist Him? Ro.9:19. "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and …Amen. 2Cor.1:20. They are SURE AND CERTAIN! "For (out) OF HIM (Christ as mediator and preeminince) and THROUGH HIM (as the only mediator) and (back in) TO HIM (as the final goal of restored and redeemed creation) ARE ALL THINGS." Ro,11:36. He is the author and FINISHER of both the natural and spiritual creation-Col.1:15-18; Heb.11:2; Rev.1:18. "HATH NOT GOD WRITTEN TO US EXCELLENT THINGS IN COUNSELS (purposes) AND KNOWLEDGE THAT HE MIGHT MAKE KNOWN THE CERTAINTY OF THE WORDS OF TRUTH TO THEM THAT SEND UNTO THEE…"?" Prv.22:200-21. Therefore we "write the vision and make it plain…for the vision is YET FOR AN APPOINTED TIME, but AT THE END IT SHALL SPEAK AND NOT LIE: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely com, it shall not tarry." Hab.2:2,3. Search the scriptures (Jn.5:39) wherein He hath ‘MADE KNOWN UNTO US THE MYSTERY OF HIS WILL, according to HIS GOOD PLEASURE which He hath PURPOSED IN HIMSELF." Eph.1:9. "CALL UNTO ME AND I WILL ANSWER THEE AND SHEW THEE GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS WHICH THOU KNOWEST NOT" (Jer.33:3) even "TO MAKE ALL MEN SEE WHAT IS THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE MYSTERY…ACCORDING TO THE ETERNAL PURPOSE (plan of the ages-Grk.) WHICH HE PURPOSED IN CHRIST…" Eph.3:9-11; 1Jn.1:3; Heb.8:11. "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven having THE EVERLASTING GOSPEL TO PREACH UNTO…EVERY NATION AND KINDRED AND TONGUE AND PEOPLE." Rev.14:6; Psa.107:8. "…the Stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and FILLED THE WHOLE EARTH." Dan.2:35b. "And in this mountain [kingdom] shall the Lord of hosts make unto ALL PEOPLE a feast…and He will destroy…the face of the covering cast over ALL PEOPLE, and the vail that is spread over ALL NATIONS. He will swallow up death in victory; and…will wipe away tears from off ALL FACES; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off ALL THE EARTH: for the Lord hath spoken it…He will save us: this is the Lord-Isa.25:6-9.
