God’s design, intent and purpose is only one thing: He wants to dispense Himself into humanity. If you do not experience Christ living in you, as you, at least to a degree you have a great experience coming to you. When the Spirit of the living God begins to arise in you and manifest through you, your life is really just beginning.

The experience of His life living through you is why you are on this earth. God wants to experience through you the joy of living in this physical world. You are a spiritual being created in the image of God before you ever descended to this world.

One of the things that hinder us from the experience of Christ living through us is all of our religious activity. Most of us were taught that to grow in Christ we had to get involved in all kinds of things such as witnessing and working for the church, teaching Sunday school and all kinds of activity. We were also taught that to have spiritual growth we had to do certain things and not do other things. We were taught that we could not enjoy God if we had sin in our lives. After all God is a holy God and He would pour out His anger on you if you did not obey Him and get rid of the sin.

All most all of the teachings we have had from Christianity or any other religion has really hindered the expression of God in our lives. When we are trying all the religious things and thinking we have to do certain things to win favor with God, we are missing the kernel of the Gospel. The truth of the gospel is that you are, in your inner being already complete in Him. We are not going to experience this until we stop all the religious activity and just sit in the quiet and linger in His presence and learn to enjoy Him.

When you enjoy Him the essence of his life increases within you and fills you with joy. There is nothing you need to do to gain his favor. He loves you with an everlasting love.

God has had no lack of people who wanted to work for Him among Christians. Yet, what has been accomplished for the most part in the last two thousand years has been wood, hay and stubble. There is only one God, one Body, One Church, One Father and One Faith. Look what religion has done with the oneness. If God’s people really understood oneness we would not be so divided. Jesus Himself said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

We have to go back to God’s original intent for man. And that was that He wanted a priesthood. He wanted a corporate people for His image and His dominion. A priest is one who bares His image and carries His authority. A true priest is not someone who just works for God. A priest is one who contacts God in their daily life and becomes filled with God. We could possibly work for God all of our lives doing all the religious activity and never really be filled with Him. Remember what he said to one group of folks? Matt 7:22-23 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

This is a group of people who did all kinds of works in His name and He said “I never knew you.” They worked for Him but they did not take the time in their daily lives to enjoy Him and get intimate with him. Always remember to be a priest is to be one who contacts God and is filled with God and then the flowing of God will transform lives.

You will never lose by spending quality time with God. You can go out and work for God and still be a failure all your life. It must be God in us that does the work. If you get filled with God and saturated with God so that you become a carrier of His anointing and His presence, then everywhere you go you are guaranteed success. I am certainly not perfected in this yet but I learned this secret a few years ago. I’m much more of a success in the things of God than I was then, after 13 years of trying. How could you lose if you become full of God? When folks see the love of God manifested in your life they are drawn to you.

The question is what do we desire? Do we just want to operate in the gifts and work for God or do we desire to be filled with Him? We can see the example of a priest in the Old Testament, those who really lived the presence of God. In the beginning God wanted the whole nation to be priests. However when the people rebelled he then chose a few to be priests. In the Old Testament, everything the priests did and everything they touched and handled was a type of Christ. The Sin Offering, the Trespass Offering, the Wave Offering, the Peace Offering were all types and shadows of what Jesus became.

To be a priest today is an exciting life. You dispense the Spirit of God everywhere you go. Out of your innermost being flow love, light and life. That is the true meaning of serving God.
