      God or Adam

Who’s in Control -- God or "Adam"?

Part III May/June 2000

Eye has not seen nor ear heard what Yahweh has in store for them that love Him. We have a tremendous advantage over Abraham in that we can look back on what he did or did not do and learn from his trials and errors. It seems that a lot of people don’t consider that all of the Old Covenant people were living out and writing the things that we can read and have available to us today. It is extremely easy to point out their mistakes and wonder why they did it that way. We are today, in the "Monday morning quarterback" position. Hindsight is always 20/20. Have we, as individuals, ever looked back on something we’ve done and asked ourselves "why did I do that in that way?" I’m sure, if you’re honest with yourself, you’ll say "yes". Being judgmental of other peoples mistakes is seemingly easy to do, primarily I believe, because of our poor self images. We have been taught to think that we have to "be everything to all people". However, the Father only wants us to be pleasing to Him in everything we are and do. The Humanistic (Adamic) philosophy conveys the thought that we must please everyone or else we are a failure. What a farce! Obviously, Abraham would have been a very poor humanist. His only desire was to please Yahweh.

Previous Life Notes parts I & II have brought Abraham, and hopefully us, to the point of recognizing the inheritance that was unconditionally promised to Abraham and us. We found the necessity of separation from "old things", leaving our "Lots" behind and following the leading of Yahweh. We now come to the next phase of our spiritual walk.

What is Our Salvation

Traditional teaching states that being saved is just a matter of giving your heart to Yahshua and being sorry for your sins. However, complete salvation is not an instantaneous experience and for that reason there are many "still born" Ishmael’s — products of the flesh. Obtaining complete salvation is a process that occurs over time as our understanding rises to embrace the precious promises given to us in Yahshua. Real scriptural salvation has to do with being made whole, spirit, soul and body. It also involves being delivered from death and this present evil world.

Did Israel walk into the Promised Land the day they were released from Egypt? No! They journeyed for forty years, when the actual time should have been approximately eleven days, before they were ready to enter the land that represents for us the life lived by the promises of Yahweh. Our personal journey only needs to last as long as it takes for us to touch reality in Yahweh and know our true identity and walk in it.

As the prophets of old revealed the truth to be fulfilled in Messiah who was to come, they were also speaking to us. The promises, being fulfilled in Messiah, are our guarantee that they also will be fulfilled in us. However, they can only be in us in the same way they were in Yahshua Messiah. His life was recorded for us not only as history but also as the foundation on which we can and should build our lives. As Apostle Paul says other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, and that is Yahshua Messiah. (1 Co 3:11)

The main reason that Yahweh called Israel and made them a spiritual priesthood was to put in them the "secret of life" through whom He would reveal himself to the nations. Sadly, Israel failed in their calling and became as the other nations—this was never Yahweh’s intention. By failing to obey the voice of Yahweh, they never realized the spiritual expectation of being a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Apostle Paul tells us that their history serves as an example to us of how we will also fail, if we follow their pattern of life. Yahweh’s desire is to have a unique people, who are "aliens" in this world, through whom He can express himself. He is raising up a new creation people for this purpose. If we want to express life on the highest dimension, the principle of separation from everything that would tie us to this natural world must function is us just as it did in Abraham’s life. By using Moses, Yahweh, without an army and without a war, set Israel free from the strongest nation on the earth at that time. Yahweh manifested himself in their midst in many mighty ways. When Yahshua Messiah came in the fullness of time he saw that there was no man fulfilling the purpose of Yahweh, and so realized that he was sent to be that man.

By fulfilling in himself all that the prophets had promised, Yahshua Messiah opened the way for a new creation people to be raised up as a holy nation and a kingdom of priests, all manifesting the divine nature, living above the corruption that is in this world. The time is fast approaching when this new creation people of Yahweh will defy the world authority, with its plan to control every nation and person, and begin to move throughout the earth setting all creation free. We are the people who will declare "the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, and it shall be so. We will be set in battle array by Yahweh and we will witness the fulfillment of Deut 32:30 ...one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight. Also, Joel 2:7 They run like mighty men; They climb the wall like soldiers; And they each march in line, Nor do they deviate from their paths. 8 They do not crowd each other; They march everyone in his path. When they burst through the defenses, They do not break ranks. 9 They rush on the city, They run on the wall; They climb into the houses, They enter through the windows like a thief. 10 Before them the earth quakes, The heavens tremble, The sun and the moon grow dark, And the stars lose their brightness. 11 And the LORD (Yahweh) utters His voice before His army; Surely His camp is very great, For strong is he who carries out His word. The day of the LORD is indeed great and very awesome, And who can endure it?

We are hearing today many "so-called prophets" speaking doom and destruction and bringing fear upon many of Fathers people. Some are even predicting the end of the world. However, if you’ll view the Most Holy Place and its dimensions, you will see that the next age is approaching. Its dimensions are ten cubits by ten cubits by ten cubits, equaling 1000 cubits, representing the time of the millenium. It will be a time of unsurpassed miracles, as Yahweh’s new creation people release the glory of Yahweh that will cover the earth, even as the waters cover the sea. Halleu-Yah!!!

The People of Yahweh

Confusion abounds concerning the judgement of Yahweh that is ready to be poured out on the earth after the saints have all been taken away to some ethereal heaven. It seems to be rather selfish thinking that Father would "catch away" such a small percentage of the earth’s population after Yahshua the Messiah had paid the price to redeem all of mankind. A definition of redeem means—to buy back. Why would Yahshua pay a price to buy us back, it we had not previously belonged to Yahweh? Another thought is, if Christians "really" believed that Yahweh was going to separate approximately ninety-nine percent of the world from Him for eternity, how could they ever relax and do such things as watch television, go to sporting events, etc? Obviously, they don’t really believe in the "eternal damnation" preached by the hell-fire preachers, or they wouldn’t be able to rest until they had "witnessed" to everyone around them.

In Heb 3:1 we read holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Messiah Yahshua. If we as believers are to go forward in the ministry established by our leader and fore-runner in this heavenly calling, we must continue until every knee has bowed and every tongue has confessed that Yahshua Messiah is Yahweh. We are the ones to take the gospel of the kingdom to the ends of the earth.

Apostle Paul states in Ep 2:7 in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Because so many Christians today have failed to grasp their uniqueness and true identity in Yahweh, they have been taken captive by their enemies and have taken on the same identity as their enemies. Therefore, many "holy people" have been possessed by Edom, the fleshly children of Esau, who denied their true identity, counting their birthright of no value.

In Ezekiel 36 the prophet prophesied against Edom, who had taken that which belonged to Yahweh and claimed it for their own. Yahweh is jealous over us, because He made us for himself, to be an everlasting possession and His habitation. We are reading of Yahweh dealing with the unholy nations within us to remove our shame that His glory might be revealed in us. Then the prophet says that we are to shoot forth our branches and produce fruit. This will be the evidence of the life Yahweh has put within us. Then there will be a divine purification, as the nations within us are made to conform to the Messiah, and we become unified as one man. The prophet is revealing Yahweh’s plan to lift us out of our earthiness into the image of the heavenly. This will be the end of every false identity and concept we have carried with us in our Adamic consciousness. At that time the shame of our failure will be removed and there will be no more reproach. Is Yahweh going to remove the saints and abandon the people on the earth as is taught by so many today? Or, is He bringing forth a people who will be the true expression of Messiah, who has saved us and called us by His grace, to be and stay right here on earth?

Ezekiel speaks of the mountains (the high spiritual places) to which Yahweh is calling His people today which will yield desirable fruit, causing a bursting forth of Life from what were formerly dry sticks. He also compares us to a field that is untilled and unsowed, i.e. we have only produced that which has grown of itself, out of itself. This is Yahweh speaking of a revival unlike any revival we have known heretofore. This is not speaking of some spiritual stirring that lasts for a short while and then disappears so that we can return to our former state. This is a true metamorphous experience in the lives of His people that the prophet is speaking about here.

In verse 17, Ezekiel speaks about when Israel dwelt in their own land, how they defiled it because of their waywardness and infidelity, making them abhorrent in the eyes of Yahweh. Like natural Israel, we have also produced the weeds and seeds of our own willfulness causing our testimony to be less than positive before the world. However despite our failure to declare our true heritage in Yahweh, we are living in a day of His wonderful grace, when He is doing a new work in us unlike anything we have previously known.

Yahweh’s method

If any man be in Yahshua he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things are new. This involves a separation between Yahweh’s people and the people of the world, making us a peculiar people. This separation is not designed for our own blessing, but is designed to sanctify His name before the "heathen" of the world. To achieve this, He said that He would sanctify Himself in us. This is not a self-reformation process, but a sovereign work of Father that began when He said Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Eze 36:25. This will remove our false sense of identity and establish a new understanding of our origin and sense of being. Notice that Yahweh does not begin by telling us of our failures and to change our ways. The divine method begins in the depths of our being, and not in the superficial areas of our lives. If we see ourselves as a mortal man and a sinner, then we will live accordingly. However, if our consciousness reveals we are sons of God, that perception will be seen in our behavior.

In the above verse, the "water" is not just to clean, but also to activate the "life seed" that has remained dormant within us, manifesting itself by producing its own fruit. This is what Apostle Paul is referring to in 2Cor 5:17. This is truth as opposed to the doctrine of men taught in many churches today, concerning the "depravity" of man in the "fall" that can only be erased through physical death and resurrection. Man’s original identity in Yahweh can never be lost because it was established in us in creation.

A person who cannot separate fantasy and reality is said to suffer from some form of insanity. From a spiritual perspective, millions of people in this world, including many Christians, are also suffering from a similar form of "spiritual insanity." What they perceive to be the reality of their being, is actually fantasy, because they been deceived. The consequence of this is that they actually live out of that false consciousness, thinking it to be their spiritual reality.

My thanks again to Brother Des Walter for his shared insights.

We will continue this theme in the next Life Notes.

Thoughts from Barbara

Greetings Beloved Saints,

Did you ever stop to think how strange we are? I know Yahweh didn’t make any mistakes but there are times I really wonder "what are we thinking?"

Consider this: in Eze 20:33, God plainly informs us as I live says the Lord God (Yahweh, Elohim), surely with a mighty hand, with an out stretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. Just before that in verse 32 He says what you have in your mind will never be, when you say we will be like the gentiles, like the families in other countries serving wood and stone! What is it that we don’t understand when He says I will?

We read in hundreds of places in the written word about what He says He will do and wholeheartedly agree. Well, it must only be mental assent because we carry on with our will! What is our problem?

I know you want me to answer that for you but you know what? I can’t really answer it for myself! I only know that in my heart I want His will but somehow when it’s time to submit to it my will seems so much stronger and insists on having its way! My way will always make more sense that His and is certainly much easier to do. And yet I know, somewhere down deep inside, His will is the best for me! How can I deny that when it’s been proven over and over again. Not only in my life but in the Old Covenant peoples lives as well as in the New Covenant. It’s all right there and I still fail so many times in letting Him have His way in my life! I could write a book, and so could you, of the many times I’ve had to repent and back up to allow His will to be done. Why do we have to "do it my way"? You would think we lived our lives to prove Him wrong!

What’s the solution? You guessed it—surrender! Once we surrender completely to Him we no longer question His will. We are quick to do whatever He asks without any questions. Some would think this would be a no-brainer but, please, didn’t He make our brain? Is it so wrong to turn our brain over to its maker and learn to think like Him? He says in Phil 2:5-7 to let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus. That would be His will working in our lives. I would like that. Yahshua pleased His Father and He is our example. It makes me think that life would be a lot easier if I would do the same.

I believe our father is looking to and fro for a people to allow His will to be done without having to pour out His fury (Eze 20:33) to make it happen. Is He calling for His body to lay themselves on His altar and stop making Him put us there?

My desire is to seek His will and I pray that He will soon be able to find us all coming willingly to submit to His will for us.

Lovingly,

Barbara
